Tim Ferry and Team USA Dominate the MXoN!
Posted by: Cropley | Monday, September 24, 2007

Team USA dominated the Motocross of Nations! Ryan Villopoto won both of his motos over the bigger bikes, something that has never been done before, while Ricky Carmichael came back from dead last in the MX1 & MX2 Moto 1 to finish in third place. etnies' Tim Ferry Killed it! Even after a bad start left Red Dog in last place on the first lap of MX2 & Open Moto 2, he picked off a ton of international rider to make his way back to 4th place! In the final moto of the day, MX1 & Open, Carmichael got the holeshot and was long gone. Ferry started in third and had a good battle with MX1 World Champ, Steve Ramon, until he passed him half way through for an easy 2nd place!

Villopoto, Carmichael and Ferry all took the overall win in their respective classes along with the Motocross of Nation Championship and the Chamberlain Trophy! Congrats to all of Team USA!
etnies' Grant Langston of Team South Africa had a rough time at the MXoN. Langston crashed 4 times in his first moto! After one crash he got dirt jammed in his throttle, and after he got going again he came hot into corner after a downhill and couldn't close the throttle! Just one thing after another.... GL's second moto went much better and he landed himself on the podium. Nice!

- Just like magic all your photos will show up in the MXoN Photo Gallery!
Feel free to get started and add some photos from last year if you were there, or new ones if you're in town early. If you have any questions leave them in the blog comments and we'll do our best to help out.

etnies & Mike Relm Giveaway!
Posted by: Brink | Wednesday, September 12, 2007
Born and raised in what has become known as the mecca of turntablism, San Francisco, Mike Relm played a critical role in the skratch music movement of the late 90's producing records and events. "Skratchcon 2000", which he directed, is to skratching what "A Great Day In Harlem" is to jazz. He made his debut on the silver screen on Doug Pray's award winning film "Scratch", where he was documented in a studio jam session with DJ Shadow. Relm's unmistakable style also led to a collaboration with Money Mark for music on "Along Came Polly" (Universal, 2004). Upon meeting director John Hamburg during the studio session, Relm was brought on to appear in several of the film's scenes.
Mike Relm has become a worldwide leader in the visual arts. He transforms every stage into his personal film festival, manipulating music and movies live to awestruck audiences. Never before has anyone attempted such an act, and it has been called the most brilliant thing a DJ has ever done on stage.
Mike Relm is also a good friend of etnies, so we decided to feature him as the September artist of the month and hold a little contest. Fill out the form for your chance to win an etnies and Mike Relm prize pack!

Grant Langston is the 2007 AMA Motocross Champion!
Posted by: Cropley | Monday, September 10, 2007
- Grant Langston is the 2007 AMA Motocross Champion!
Congratulations to Grant Langston on winning the 2007 AMA Motocross Championship! Langston went 1-3 at Glen Helen over the weekend to clinch his first Championship in the premiere 450F Motocross Class! With this Championship Langston has won just about every championship that a rider can win in Motocross: 2000 FIM 125cc World Champion, 2003 AMA Motocross 125cc Champion, 2003 AMA Supermoto Champion, 2005 AMA Supercross Lites West Champion, 2006 AMA Supercross Lites East Champion, and now the 2007 AMA Motocross Champion (450F)!

After starting off the season a little slow--he placed outside the top 5 in all but 1 of the first 7 races--GL got a hold of the new 2008 Yamaha and was riding like a man on a mission. In the remaining 5 races Langston got 2nd overall twice and won the last 3 races in a row!
Tim Ferry had a rough go at it at Glen Helen. Little mistakes kept him from moving up and passing guys for valuable championship points. After starting the season strong with multiple podium finishes--2 moto wins and 1 overall win--Ferry rode strong but not his best in the final few rounds. Ferry ended up fourth in the Championship points.
Motocross Championship Standings
- 439 Grant Langston etnies
- 423 Mike Alessi
- 421 Andrew Short
- 417 Tim Ferry etnies

In the Lites Class, etnies' Josh Grant of team SoBe/Samsung Mobile/Honda also had a rough time at Glen Helen. In moto 1 at Glen Helen Josh was running fast up front with Villo and Townley, but a nasty crash mid-way through left him with a DNF and unable to ride the 2nd moto. Fortunately for Josh, he had such a large points lead over the next closest rider he still finished third in the AMA Motocross Lites Championship! Congrats, Josh!
Lites Championship Standings
- 544 Ryan Villopoto
- 525 Ben Townley

Langston Leads going into Glen Helen!
Posted by: Cropley | Thursday, September 6, 2007

- Tim Ferry is looking to move up from 3rd!
The big weekend is upon us! The final round of the AMA Motocross series at Glen Helen is this Sunday. Only 2 motos left, 50 points up for grabs and only 15 points separate the top 4 rider in the hunt for the championship!
As a fan it doesn't get much better than this...as an etnies guy it's pretty damn good with two riders in the hunt! etnies' Grant Langston has the championship within grasp with an 8 point lead over Andrew Short in second place. Timmy Ferry, in third place, has had a rough couple races while struggling with starts, but if he gets out front early this weekend he'll be tough to catch!
There are a million scenarios that we could go over to see who would win if something happened, but who cares? We'll all find out come Sunday afternoon, so we're just going to sit back and enjoy the finish to one of the best Motocross seasons to date...may the best man win!
Make sure to check back next week for a full update and a ton of photos!
