In the Lites, Josh Grant just missed the podium and finished the day in 4th. If you didn't hear about the brawl between etnies/Yamaha of Troy's Jason Lawrence and Monster Kawi's Ryan Villopoto, well, you ain't listening and should check it out here. All that led to him getting last gate pick in each moto and had him battling through the pack for 5th in each moto. Nice.

Enter the etnies & Deftones Contest!

Deftones are about to embark on a nationwide US tour in support of Saturday Night Wrist, the long-awaited follow-up to 2003’s Deftones. Saturday Night Wrist is both deceptively tuneful and alarmingly heavy, see-sawing between melancholy reflection and jaw-clenching frustration like a manic depressive refusing his meds. Saturday Night Wrist incorporates disparate elements of hard rock, heavy metal, punk, classic, alternative and electronic music within its tumultuous grooves.

etnies is a proud sponsor of the 2007 Deftones tour and we’re giving 3 lucky winners a pair of tickets to see one of the final Deftones shows in either Las Vegas, San Diego or Los Angeles in July. One grand prize winner per city will be chosen and the three grand prize winners will also receive an etnies/Deftones prize pack consisting of a pair of etnies shoes, a Deftones T-shirt, hoodie and signed Saturday Night Wrist CD.

All you gotta do is fill out this form. A bit of advice: You might wanna live in or near one of the three cities for which we are giving away tickets and have a way to get to the show in case you win, ‘cuz we ain’t flippin’ the travel bill! You should be listening to Deftones as you enter this contest, because that might be good karma. Best of luck, kiddos!

Las Vegas Supercross Final!

Posted by: Cropley | Sunday, May 6, 2007

Jake Weimer
Weimer up on the big screen and the podium!

The Final of the Supercross season was crazy! People crashing all over the place...including a couple etnies riders. But coming out of nowhere was Sobe Samsun's Jake Weimer with a second place ride in the 250F East/West shootout! Jake admitted he din't ride very well in practice, but it all came together when it mattered! Congrats to Weimer on his best ride of the season!

Teammate Josh Grant wasn't quite as fortunate. After getting tangled up with Josh Hill in heat 1, Grant was way outside of qualifying position but came back strong, passing a bunch of guys from way back for a spot in the main event. In the main Josh didn't get a very good start...sixth place was where he would end up.

Boost Mobile Yamaha of Troy's Jason Lawrence was battling with Josh Grant for much of the main and came out on top of that battle in fourth place after getting second in the 250F West Supercross championship.

The 450F class was also pretty crazy with quite a few riders going down in the torn up whoops. One of those riders was Grant Langston...he crashed hard! Fortunately Langston was able to walk off the track on his own, but didn't finish the race.

Timmy Ferry was lookin' good and running strong in fourth for most of the race. Unfortunately, with only a few laps to go, Ferry fell over before the finish line and gave up a couple positions--he would get up to finish in sixth place.

The outdoor nationals are next...stay tuned folks.
