Glen Helen - Josh Grant & Travis Preston on the Podium!
Posted by: Cropley | Monday, September 11, 2006
- Josh Grant
Well, that's all she wrote for the '06 Outdoor season. Glen Helen was the final round of the season and it brought home some solid results for the etnies team. Team Sobe/Samsung Mobile/Honda's Josh Grant went 4-6 for fourth over all on the day, but the big news is that he made up some points on Andrew Short and pulled off third place in the Championship standings! Congrats!
For #123, Yamaha of Troy's Brett Metcalfe, number 5 was his lucky number on Sunday. He went 5-5 for 5th place overall and he finished off the season in 5th! Weird, but good. Brett's YoT and etnies teammate Andrew McFarlane rounded out the season in seventh.
Tommy Hahn put in a really impressive ride for sixth overall and got fourth place in moto2. Richmond Racing Kawasaki's Kyle Chisholm took seventh overall in the 250F class at Glen Helen after recently winning the Canadian MX2 East championship! Nice job guys!

In his last ride under the Factory Honda tent, Travis Preston got his best ever finish in the 450F class. Fourth place in moto1 and third in moto2 was enough to get Travis on the podium overall. Travis ended up fifth place in the Championship standings for the second year in a row...how's that for consistency!
Nick Wey was fifth overall over the weekend and got eighth in the Championship, followed by his etnies teammate Tim Ferry who got ninth. Ferry rode really solid all year and will be riding for Factory Kawasaki next year along side James Stewart!

Josh Grant on the Podium at Steel City
Posted by: Cropley | Tuesday, September 5, 2006
- Photo: TransworldMX
Congrats to etnies/Sobe/Samsung Honda's Josh Grant for his 3rd place overall performance this weekend at Steel City. Moto one saw Grant in second place, and even after Villopoto passed him momentarly, Josh passed him right back to hold on to second. Moto two he didn't get the best start but worked his way to third place for a score of 2-3 and thrid place overall.
That was Josh's fourth time on the podium this year and he now sits in fourth place, 20pts behind Short, in the championship standings going into the Glen Helen finale. Maybe third overall? Who knows... but anything can happen in the 250F class... especially at Glen Helen!

Look out! The etnies train of Mike Brown, Nick Wey and Tim Ferry rode to sixth, seventh and eigth place, respectively.... nice.
