McNeil also won Best Trick on Saturday night. So, if I'm not mistaken (which I probably am) McNeil should be automatically getting an invite to X Games next year! Hopefully.

Spring Creek = Mud Creek
Posted by: Cropley | Tuesday, August 15, 2006
- Josh Grant with a couple holeshots.
The first round of motos started off quite nicely in Spring Creek over the weekend. Josh Grant pulled the 250F moto 1 holeshot and held off the pack for a few laps before being pushed back to fifth place. The following 450F moto 1 saw etnies' Travis Preston taking fifth place with Mike Brown close in tow for eighth.
The second round of motos was a totally different story as Spring Creek quickly transformed into Mud Creek with torrential downpours making the track a sloppy mess. Josh Grant again took the 250F holeshot but, with the sloppy track, he had a few problems and finished in tenth for sixth overall. Mike Brown was right up front with RC on the start of Moto 2 and just missed the holeshot by a hair. Mike got fourth in the muddy Moto 2 for fifth overall, his best finish on the 450F this year. Congrats!

X Games FMX Final
Posted by: Cropley | Monday, August 7, 2006etnies' Jim McNeil was one of five riders to make it to the Freestyle finals at X Games this year. Qualifying fourth, McNeil knew he had to step it up to pull off his first X Games medal. Jim did just that. Huge flip whips, perfectly executed KOD's, no-footed nacs, and what looked like a no-footed can to KOD, were all nuts. But Jim's flip tricks are what separated him from the pack. Backflip seat grabs and seat grab Indian airs (no one else was doing that shit!), flip nacs, no-handed flips and backflip Cordova's!!!

- Front brake standing burnouts are hard to do.
Talking to Deegan afterwards, he said he thought McNeil got shafted by the judges and deserved a better score. "He was taking more risks than anyone out there," Deegs said. Personally, I agree. You can't really argue with the General now can you?
But everyone else was on their game, too, and threw down some solid runs. In the end the judges placed McNeil in fourth, just .80 of a point behind the Bronze medal position. Congrats Jim and great job! Next year it's on!
X Games Moto Best Trick!
Posted by: Cropley | Saturday, August 5, 2006
- Jim McNeil - Backflip Seat Grab Indian Air!!!
I'm speachless. Tonight was the best X Games Moto Big Air/Best Trick (whatever ya wanna call it) everrrrr. There were so many mind boggeling tricks being pulled it was hard to keep track of. Obviously, Pastrana's double backflip is the craziest thing ever done, period. Congrats to him. But from there it was anyone's game...
etnies' newest rider, Jim McNeil, had a bag full of tricks that could, and probably should, have landed him a medal this year. The judges didn't see it that way, though. Whatcha gunna do? Considering all that was happening, fifth place is like a win. Congrats Jim!
Deegan was riding big air, also. With some solid flip whip combos Deegan landed himself in eigth place. Jesse James of West Coast Choppers and his hot movie star wife Sandra Bullock were hanging in the Mulisha corner for the finals. I tried to get all paparazzi about it for a lurker photo, but all I could manage was a shot of Sandra's head. I just might have to sell it to STAR Magazine for some big bucks!
Tonight was crazy. Hopefully the next couple days can live up to this... cruise back to etnies.com for all the photos and the full rundown.

- McNeil pullin' some digits...

- The "other TP" hangin with Deegs after all is said and done...
Full photo galleries, video and more later in the week....
X Games Freestyle - Thursday Practice
Posted by: Cropley | Thursday, August 3, 2006It's the second day of practice and everyone is going off! This years Freestyle contest will be like a 90 second best trick contest the way things are going now. Flip nacs, flip no footed cans, flip cordovas, flip seat grabs, flip superman's (no grab... straight up superman!), flips over the gnarly 110 foot ramp-to-dirt (Adams flip cordova'd it!).... too much stuff to name off right now. Make sure to tune in and watch on TV. And come back here for more photos and junk.

- The course...

- 110 footer...

- Jim McNeil was killing it during practice as you can see from the flip cordova!!!

- Twitch cruised out with the fam to check everything out. He's still in casts but he should be outa the left cast in a couple weeks and the right will be off a few weeks after that... Next stop: Destroying Winter X!

- Todd Potter isn't riding X Games, but ESPN did hire him to do a photo shoot for some promotional BS. Some extra cash and a chance to session the freestyle course sounds like a damn good deal to me!

- Step up practice was supposed to go down tonight but McShowtime and others didn't like the landing very much so it's going to get changed a little. Deegan didn't get a chance to hit it, but it's no biggy since it will be all different tomorrow.
More to come tomorrow... but for now, it's party time!
X Games Moto Event/TV Schedule
Posted by: Cropley | Wednesday, August 2, 2006X Games starts up tomorrow! Brian Deegan and Jim McNeil will be out there representing for etnies in Step Up, Freestyle and Best Trick. Twitch wont be riding due to his big crash at the DEW Tour a few weeks back where he broke both legs.
If you can make it out to LA for the event make sure to come out and support the team. If ya can't get out there make sure to watch everything on TV.

Garland's freestylemx.com Tour Update
Posted by: Cropley | Wednesday, August 2, 2006Derek Garland has been on tour with the Boost Mobile/FreestyleMX.com tour all summer long. We haven't heard from Garland for a while and thought maybe he went MIA in Butfuk, Tennessee with a traveling donkey show or something. But it turns out Garland is doing just great!...here's what he had to say:
"The Boost Mobile tour continued this last weekend in Maine. We did shows in Bangor and Presque Isle. We got word from the locals that the only thing to do in Maine is get drunk and have sex...so we went with that --garlandfmx"
Sounds fun, keep us updated on anything new!
Josh Grant Second OA @ Washougal
Posted by: Cropley | Tuesday, August 1, 2006Congrats to Josh Grant on a solid ride this weekend for second overall in the 250F class! Moto one saw Grant taking second place, just 2 seconds back from winner Andrew Short, but over 25 seconds ahead of the next closest competitor! In Moto two Grant stayed consistent and, even after a small mistake, held on for third place and second overall.
Also, Timmy Ferry had one of his best showings of the season with fourth place in Moto two and fifth overall! Travis Preston was right there in the mix, too, with sixth overall, going 6-5.
