Trigger's World Record Video!!!!

Posted by: Cropley | Thursday, June 29, 2006

This is a groundbreaking moment people! The etnies blog now has video capabilities built in, and this is the very first video! Yes, we know, it’s amazing.

So, what better way to commemorate this occasion than with another groundbreaking moment from etnies very own Trigger Gumm? Trigg broke the motorcycle long-distance world record just over 1 year ago with a 277’ monstrous jump. It was broken a few months later by Ryan Capes, but Trigger has it planned for later this year to SMASH the current record and go well over 310 feet!!!

Enjoy the video and stay on the look out for even more videos coming from etnies Skate, Surf, Snow, BMX and Moto in the near future…oh yeah, and video podcasts!

It's a big video so be patient, yo.

DEW Tour - Twitch wads up!

Posted by: Cropley | Monday, June 26, 2006
ouch!
Tedesco Photo

The first stop of the Dew Tour went on over the weekend and our boy Twitch wadded up bad! He's alright though...just a few broken bones in his leg and the docs say he could be back in as little as three weeks.

Twitch messed up trying a superman seat grab flip on a jump off the back of a landing. He hit it a little hard and got pitched off his bike from a couple stories up to land on his feet in the flats! Check out this video clip of it. Crazy!

Despite the crash in his second run Twitch got fourth place points for his first run. He should be back in time for the Denver Dew stop and he will definitely be back for X Games in August.

Twitch, here's to a quick recovery and getting back out there to kick some ass!

Trigger Gumm Burger King commercial

Have you seen the Burger King commercial featuring the “Big Huckin’ Chicken”? It’s pretty cool. Even cooler because Trigger Gumm was one of the "stunt cocks" dressed up in the chicken suit. Trigg did the long distance jump, the fake crash, and the parts where the chicken is passing guys on the track.

Watch out for the commercial on TV, or you can see a couple versions of it at BK.com. One of the crazy looking extras was rocking an etnies shirt and got a little camera time, so watch for that nut, too.

Hooray for Football!

The dream team -- Keeley 1-11 -- true ambassador's to the sport

So I’ve been hearing a lot of hype about the World Cup of Soccer lately, and, honestly, I could care less…until today! When I came across Keeley, well, I suddenly had an interest in the sport most of the world calls “Fútbol”.

I’m thinking I just might sit through 3 hours of guys running back and forth just because Keeley is so hot and she likes Soccer. Who knows, maybe she will inspire other football-ignorant Yanks to watch sports on TV besides American Idol and "American Football".

Deegan's New Pad

Posted by: Cropley | Sunday, June 18, 2006
Deegan's strict training program would make Lance Armstrong and Ricky Carmichael cry like babies.

MTV Cribs ain’t got shit on us! It's all about etnies Padz! In this first ever edition of Padz we visit Brian Deegan's brand new, never-before-seen online, Temecula, CA dirt bike oasis. Situated a a butt load of acres, Deegan's new pad features a one story house with a bunch of bedrooms, a courtyard in the middle, a gym and a huge garage for the CLS 55 AMG Benzo and all the dirt bikes. Probably the best part is the infinity pool with jacuzzi, overlooking the freestyle course in the back yard! It's a dream setup.

X Games medals? Yeah, Deegs has a few.

Derek Garland came out and flipped the super kicker for the first time in a couple months. Flips are pretty much basic training for Garlander and he handled it no problem, even throwing in a couple flip whips for good measure. Deegan is flipping the 75 footer and has all of his non flip tricks dialed right now.

After a solid session we all made good use of the pool and jumped in for a few to cool off as it was over 100 degrees out. It doesn’t get much better than that.

We have some of the very first photos ever shot at the new compound... you should feel really special as you check out the photo gallery.

At the Rock Quarry

Posted by: Cropley | Wednesday, June 14, 2006
The van down by the river.

Well, I stopped by the rock quarry (2 min. from etnies) yesterday to hang out and snap a few photos of everyone riding. Derek Garland was there killing it along with Fluffer, Kyle Loza, Wacker and a couple other guys.

Trigger Gumm
Trigger lives right down the street and rolled in on his chopper, talked some shit and bailed. It might be Trigg's birthday tomorrow? He's old.

They have a new foam pit there, too, so maybe we’ll get some foam pit videos and stuff up here soon. For now here are some shots of Garland since he’s the man and all those other dorks ride for shoe companies not worth mentioning.

The Sand Pit of the 'Wick

Posted by: Cropley | Monday, June 12, 2006

Southwick didn’t disappoint, and was yet another exciting weekend in the outdoor series. YoT’s Brett Metcalfe and Andrew McFarlane were both at the track the weekend before for a local race (stacked with tons of top pros) and got in some good practice for the big race...Metcalfe won every moto, including the 450F class! Coming into the big race with a lot of confidence, Metcalfe carried that over and tied in points for the overall, going 3-2, with Andrew Short (1-4) and Mike Alessi (2-3), but ended up second overall due to tiebreakers. And once again etnies riders take 3 of the top 5 spots in the 250F class!

250F Overall Race Results

  1. Andrew Short 1-4
  2. Brett Metcalfe 3-2 etnies
  3. Mike Alessi 2-3
  4. Andrew McFarlane 5-6 etnies
  5. Josh Grant 8-7 etnies
  6. Matt Goerke 4-12
  7. Kyle Chisholm 7-9
  8. Jason Lawrence 6-10
  9. Grant Langston 32-1
  10. Nathan Ramsey 12-8

It was Timmy Ferry’s first race back after injury and he killed it in the sand and scored seventh overall, just ahead of other etnies heavy hitters, Nick Wey and Travis Preston.

450 Overall Race Results

  1. Ricky Carmichael 2-1
  2. Chad Reed 3-2
  3. Davi Millsaps 4-3
  4. James Stewart 1-11
  5. Kevin Windham 5-4
  6. John Dowd 6-7
  7. Timmy Ferry 8-6 etnies
  8. Nick Wey 11-5 etnies
  9. Travis Preston 7-10 etnies
  10. Ryan Clark 13-9

The Sand Storm... in reverse

Posted by: Cropley | Friday, June 9, 2006
Brett Metcalfe
Metcalfe kills it in the sand.

That's right, the Southwick AMA Outdoor National is this weekend and the guys at Motocross338 decided to run it in reverse. I guess that could make things a little more intersting than they already are. Is that possible? Maybe.

Anyways, if you want to know what's goin' down, check the live timing and listen to the Live Webcast on Sunday afternoon or start driving to Massachusetts, it's up to you. Also make sure to watch the OLN broadcast the weekend after...check the etnies moto calendar for all the times and info, yo.

Oh yeah, and make sure to stop by here on Monday for a big contest announcement… you will dig it.

Metcalfe 4 for 4

Posted by: Cropley | Tuesday, June 6, 2006
brett metcalfe

This weekend the outdoor series took a little break from the racing action, but that doesn’t mean the riders wasted anytime relaxing, hell no, they rode the wheels off their dirt cycles all weekend. Boost YoT and etnies rider Brett Metcalfe went 4 for 4 winning every moto over the weekend (250F and 450F class) at a local race at Southwick against the likes of Mike Alessi, Josh Grant, Davi Millsaps, teammate Andrew McFarlane and more heavy hitters.

With his success over the weekend, Metcalfe is a big favorite going into this weekend’s national in the sands of Southwick. Transworld and Racer X caught up with Metcalfe...see what he had to say.

This means WAR!!!

Posted by: Cropley | Monday, June 5, 2006
Metal Mulisha at war!

Direct from Mulisha HQ:

“It's official! War has been declared since the Grandfather "the first official Mulisha drop-out" has now poached a Mulisha idea - "Factory Freestyle" and talking mad smack. Have you seen the video 'Deegan Says' from 1999? In it Factory Freestyle is used therefore we have first commerce rights. But how about the skit in the vid of Deegan and Linkogle making a mockery of doing a factory freestyle team?

The battlefield will soon be determined, it's our team vs. our idea/now his team. May the best team win - for blood and honor.

All will be forgiven with an open and public apology for your lies, nonsense and disloyalty. We're comparing this to Iraq speaking out and going against the United States. There will be no mercy.

This is a public announcement to the Grandfather, are you ready to NUT up? We look forward to your prompt reply.

From the first, the only and the best team in freestyle - the Metal Mulisha!!”
