Things that are LAME
Posted by: Cropley | Wednesday, May 31, 2006
- Motorized skateboard, moped, rollerblade, bicycle and razor all in one. X-treme!
You know those things in life that are extremely lame but probably (somewhat) fun to ride, but only if your friends don’t see you on it and never find out?
Here’s a short list I’ve compiled of some of those things:
- Riding a moped
- Rollerblading
- Riding a go-ped
- Fat chicks
- Ugly dudes? (for the ladies ;) )
- Sponging (bodyboards)
- Heelys
- Any kind of motorized skateboard invention
- MySpace (or at least MySpace bulletins)
- Unicycles
- And the granddaddy of 'em all… the Razor scooter
I left out a bunch, but you get the idea. Today I’d like to officially add one more to the ever-growing list… the Wheelman. Decide for yourself, check the video.

Trigger the Good Guy
Posted by: Cropley | Wednesday, May 24, 2006Yesterday Trigger headed out to his practice place at the Saddleback Church, right down the street from etnies, to jump for the kids of the Saddleback Church preschool class.
The kids were super pumped to hang out with Trigger and ask him questions about jumping his bike for a while before they were treated to a few 200+ ft. jumps, followed by some autographed posters. Don't believe anything people tell you--Trigger is an upstanding citizen and all-around good guy...really! This is proof!

Posted by: Cropley | Sunday, May 21, 2006

Deegan hurt his knee on Saturday during the first practice at Hangtown and will be out for the race today. Just before the finish line he landed off a jump into a rut and went over the bars. Brian says he hopes to be back next weekend for High Point. We'll keep ya posted...

Deegan headed out to Hangtown a little early to get in some practice before the big opening weekend. He raced yesterday and hole-shotted both motos, pulled away from the pack and won both motos for the overall. Hell yeah! Deegs has the track dialed so watch out!

I was checking out photos tagged with "motocross" on Flickr today and found some some sick shots of etnies pros Josh Grant and Brett Metcalfe out at Glen Helen getting ready for the outdoor season and The Prequel this weekend. Even Brian Deegan, who is in full training mode for his big come back to outdoor motocross, was out there burning some laps with the best of 'em.

The Amazing Flying Super Cock!
Posted by: Cropley | Wednesday, May 10, 2006
- Who is the Super Cock?
A big fast food chain, arguably the “King” of “Burgers” (hint hint), has been hard at work on their newest commercial campaign which will air this summer and feature the amazing, high-flying Super Cock (or something like that). It just so happens that the filming location was right down the street from etnies headquarters and even a couple etnies riders were hired on as stuntmen...or as Mulisha put it, "Stunt Cocks".
After seeing all the funny sh!t they were filming all day and helping ourselves to all the free catered food we could stomach, well, we can't wait to see the final commercial, it’ll be funny!
Supercross In V-Town!
Posted by: Cropley | Monday, May 8, 2006Who woulda thought? The Supercross title came down to the final round in Las Vegas, with only five points separating the top three and a tie between Reed and Carmichael! etnies rider Nick Wey collected his Toyota Tundra, Weekend Warrior trailer and $25,000 for top privateer honors this season. Nick took seventh in Vegas final after having problems stalling in his heat race and the semi-final, which forced him to transfer out of the LCQ. Nick finished off the season in fifth place overall.

- Grant and Alessi battling it out before Grant went down.
Travis Preston finished off the season with a strong showing in fifth place; Check him out charging straight as an arrow through the whoops.
Tommy Hahn rode to his second podium of the year taking third place over his etnies/Sobe Samsung teammate Josh Grant. Early on Josh was battling up front with Alessi--Josh passed Alessi in the whoops and Alessi fired back with a block pass. Two turns later Josh went for an aggressive pass before the triple, but he ended up falling and got hung up on a tuft block. Josh remounted and made it back up to fourth place.
The racing was fun to watch live and in person, but how was it Live on SPEED? Did anyone get a chance to watch it?
Check out the Vegas Supercross Photo Gallery for some more shots from the finals.

Josh Grant Stays With Sobe/Samsung Mobile/Honda
Posted by: Cropley | Thursday, May 4, 2006Following his extremely successful 2006 Supercross season in which he scored three main event wins, Josh Grant recently signed a renewed, two-year deal to remain on the Sobe/Samsung Mobile/Honda team through 2008.
"I'm really excited to sign on for another two years with the team, "said Josh of his new contract. "I talked briefly with a few other teams that were interested in me, but the whole time I was really hoping to stay where I am at right now. The team has been so good to me so far, and I feel really comfortable there. I have been riding their bikes forever, and feel very natural on the CRF. I was glad they stepped up to continue supporting me, and now I can concentrate on the upcoming outdoor season with no worries about contracts or teams for next year."

- The new whip.
On the way home, Grant decided to celebrate by stopping into a Mercedes-Benz dealership to pick up a new ride. His model of choice? A white S550 sedan that he plans of tricking out with some new rims and other goodies.
Naveen Dassanayke will also continue to wrench for Josh as he contests both the SX and MX Lites titles for the next two years with the team. "Naveen has been really instrumental to my success, and I am glad that he will also continue to be a part of my program."

The Best Season Ever?
Posted by: Cropley | Monday, May 1, 2006
- Photo: TWMX
We got another mudder last weekend in Seattle and it really mixed things up in the series. Who would have thought, that going into the final round, the top three would be within five points and the top two would be TIED!? This has to be the best Supercross season ever, and it's not even over yet—can't wait for Vegas this weekend!
Seattle was a fun race to watch on TV. Nick Wey got the holeshot and rode well the whole time, scoring fifth place. Some little mistakes in the mud cost Wey and allowed etnies/Factory Honda's Travis Preston to capitalize and take over the fourth place spot.
