TransWorld Motocross is reporting that Chad Reed has confirmed that he will be riding the YZ450F four-stroke in the upcoming 2006 Supercross season. Between Ricky, Bubba and Chad, Chad is the first to confirm his bike choice for '06. I can't wait for Supercross! And this year, with six races scheduled to be on CBS Sports along with a season preview show that will air on Christmas day, we might actually get see it on TV! Steppin' Up!

good stuff but i reckon he should ride the YZ 250F
because the 426 are just to quick for supercross.
but i know that he can ride any bike.
    Good Luck Chad for 2006

DUDE, THE NEW FOUR STOKES WILL BLOW AWAY ANY TWO STROKE OUT THERE. THEY HAVE MORE TORQE YOU DON'T NEED TO SHIFT AS MUCH. IF YOUR STILL RIDING A TWO STROKE ITS BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT RODE A FOUR STROKE YET! I RIDE A 05 CRF450.

RC rode the 450 at the us opn and bubba is training for sx on his 450 so we may have the top contenders all on four strokes. MIcheal Byrne is riding a kxf450 as well. GO the byrner do it with aussie pride!

TWO STROKES ARE A DYING BREED.THATS WHAT I LEARNED ON. I DON'T WANT TO SEE THEM GO EITHER, BUT LETS FACE IT FOUR STROKES ARE HERE TO STAY. THERE BECOMING FASTER AND FASTER. A BUNCH OF FREE STYLE RIDERS ARE STARTING TO PRACTICE ON THEM. I SUGGEST YOU GO RIDE ONE. I RECOMEND ANY OF THE 450S. IT WILL CHANGE YOU MIND.

while occasionaly faster, you will like 4 strokes if you are a couch-bound lazy pile and don't want to have fun riding - or if you are flat out scared to throw a leg over a 2 stroke. 4stk = HEAVY TURD

don't fall into the 4 stroke hype!!! Big name companies like the big 5 today (honda, yamaha, kawasaki, suzuki, ktm) are having the top riders mount up on 4 strokes to advertise them in order to make more money!! 4 Strokes cost about 500-1000 bucks more, and cost 3 times as much to upgrade as a 2 stroke. Read the charts, 4 strokes have a longer power band...but need twice as much displacment to do so (ex. 250cc vs. 125cc) 2 strokes are a true supercross/motocross bike, don't get sucked into the hype and spend thousands more for less performance.
