Mag Check
Posted by: Cropley | Thursday, September 29, 2005
- The September ESPN Magazine features a mini mag in the middle of it called EXPN, who woulda thunk it? A solid five pages are devoted to a story about Twitch's recent turnaround in riding and his daughter Katrina.
(The mini mag pulls right out, no problem…but I didn’t tell you.)
The November issues of Racer X and TransworldMX arrived this week! Both are pretty thick at almost 300 pages, and with all the great photography they are coffee-table book worthy for any living room. Brian Deegan is featured in the new etnies Step Up ads in both mags, you gotta check that out!

- 10 questions (from fans) with Brian Deegan – page 138
Twitch has a Gate Pic of a huge whipped no-footed backflip from X.

- Cool interview with Twitch on page 66. If you need a new bike, helmet, gear or anything you have to go check it out because they have every new product imaginable for 2006 featured up in there.
Indoor Motocross Track
Posted by: Cropley | Wednesday, September 28, 2005Check this out! Possible Indoor Motocross track in the San Diego area! The site says that the “WorldMotoPlex” would feature a 77,000 sq. ft professionally maintained motocross track, mini track, live and archived lap time and scoring system and much more. Sounds pretty good, but could it be true? I sure hope so because it will only be about 20 something minutes from my casa.

Chad Reed Out For US Open
Posted by: Cropley | Tuesday, September 27, 2005Unfortunately for us, the fans, Chad Reed will not defend his US Open title this year. Instead Chad will sit out the race to better heal his wrist from his recent surgery and get ready for the upcoming Supercross season.
I think it’s a good move; he will be all healed and rested up to come back out of nowhere and smoke everyone. Then he will win another Supercross championship! There ya go, I claimed it!

etnies Pits At Glen Helen
Posted by: Cropley | Tuesday, September 20, 2005
- The aerial view.

- There was a great view of all the buffoonery and fighting. It was almost as entertaining as the racing.

- It got pretty serious. I think there is a girl stuck in the middle there somehwere (as usual).

- These kids had the right idea. Lure in the babes with nice b00bies and steal them from their boyfriends that are fighting. Genius.

Lending a Helping Hand...

- etnies CEO Pierre Andre Senizergues and employees sending off their donation to the survivors of Hurricane Katrina
Today at the etnies warehouse in Lake Forest, CEO Pierre Andre Senizergues and his employees joined together in sending off their gift-in-kind donation of 5,000 pairs of shoes and 5,000 pieces of apparel to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
In a semi truck filled to the brim, the wearable contribution will head from Orange County straight to devastated areas and into the hands of Hurricane Katrina survivors. Those touched by the natural disaster are still in vital need of the basics and etnies found an organization willing to make the connection.
While many nonprofits are collecting only monetary donations for Hurricane Katrina relief, the United Way’s funded organization Giving Children Hope has made the effort to accept any and all donations possible. The Orange County based organization aims to help children and their families gain self sufficiency and promises that “over 99% of all contributions provide direct aid to those who are helped!”
etnies and Giving Children Hope representatives worked together with forklifts to successfully load all 449 boxes on 16 pallets which totaled 9,091 pounds. In response to receiving a gift of this size, Giving Children Hope’s director of operations Kevin Turrill said, “We don’t see these kinds of gifts very often. I think it’s wonderful.”
Again Pierre Andre Senizergues displayed his dedication to helping those in need, especially when relating to children and young adults. He has answered the national call to action and furthered his support by agreeing to match all monetary donations made by his etnies employees. Senizergues responded, “As a company we were shocked by the amount of devastation that Hurricane Katrina left. It is not only a privilege to be in a position to help in a meaningful way, but it is our responsibility as a corporation to make a difference in the lives of those who have lost so much–even the shoes on their feet.”

AMA Motocross Final From Glen Helen
Posted by: Cropley | Wednesday, September 14, 2005
- These kids had the right idea.
The final round of the 12 round AMA Outdoor Motocross series took place this past weekend. Check out the Photo Gallery. RC pretty much ran away with it as expected, going undefeated again in the 250 class. etnies AMA Motocross (250 class) rider Travis Preston placed sixth on Sunday to finish off his strong and very consistant season where he almost got on the podium on multiple occasions. Travis finished fifth place overall on the season.
Chad Reed sat out the final five rounds of the season so he could have surgery on his wrist and rehab in time for the US Open of Supercross this October 7-9. Even after missing five whole rounds, ten motos, a possibility of 250 points, Chad finished in the top ten with eighth place overall.
The AMA Motocross Lites class (AKA 125 class) was the real show this season. There were six different overall event winners over the course of the season, including etnies rider Mike Brown who was the fist privateer to win an overall in who knows how long, but it was a long time. Brownie came up with fifth place in the final season points.
Yamaha of Troy’s Danny Smith came on strong for the final round snagging fourth overall. He finished tenth this season.
Amsoil/Factory Connection/Chaparral Honda's Josh Grant was up in the mix for most of the season and had three podium finishes and was on track to finish on the podium in the final points. But a practice crash at Glen Helen the day before Steel City badly injured Josh’s knee, forcing him to sit out the remainder of the season.

Twitch Leads The Dew Tour Points
Posted by: Cropley | Tuesday, September 13, 2005Windy conditions and small jumps make it hard for some riders to pull tricks and not crash in competition, but not Twitch. He made it out of the prelims without crashing, unlike some of the other riders who struggled in the wind… Todd Potter was one of a few that went down hard. Twitch dominated the finals and took a long overdue Dew Tour win and moved into first place in overall points.
“I'm pumped I finally got a win. I have had so many 2nd places and I got 3rd at the last stop. My whole goal coming into this is to win the overall series. I just want to go home and practice and be ready for Orlando cause there is going to be some battling going on for sure.”
Twitch now leads CP Kenny by 13 points going into the final round coming up this October 13-16 in Orlando, Florida. Let’s hope for no more hurricanes and another win for Twitch!

This Weekend Is Busy
Posted by: Cropley | Thursday, September 8, 2005
- tedescophoto.com
The event planning gods must have clashed in the clouds months ago when they scheduled the weekend of September 11 for their events because pretty much everything is going on this weekend.
First and foremost, this Sunday is the fourth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Salute the flag or something and just remember those who lost their lives and what they died for....
So anyways.... The fourth stop of the Dew Action Sports Tour is in San Jose, CA and the whole Freestyle event is taking place on Saturday, practice, prelims and finals...everything. Twitch is sitting comfortably with second place points so far and is looking to steal some points from cp Kenny and get that championship and a huge ass check. etnies own TP (not Pastrana), Todd Potter will be there trying to get past the prelims this time. Todd is in 20th place overall.
The Dew Tour will be on NBC and USA network so check your local listings for TV times.
Primm is a little town right off highway 15 on the Nevada side of the CA/NV state line, occupied only by three huge hotel casinos, a couple gas stations, a fashion outlet and miles of open desert; it's the perfect home for an off-road race, the SCORE Primm 300. There is plenty of open desert for racing, gas for the cars, A/C rooms to passout in, and casinos with stocked bars for all the debauchery anyone could ask for. Cameron Steele’s Desert Assassins race team will be on hand causing most of the trouble and racing their #16 Trophy Truck while smashing in the bumpers of any competition in the way. Come check it out if you can, it’s insane.
SMD Motorsports is holding a charity silent auction at Primm to benefit those affected by Hurricane Katrina. etnies is bringing a bunch of shoe certificates to auction off.
The other moto event and the biggest overall event of the weekend is the 2005 AMA Motocross Championship finale from Glen Helen Raceway on Sunday. 100,000+ fans converge on this track for the final stop of the 12 round series. Mike Brown was at the etnies office today picking up some fresh kicks and some clothes for him and the fam. Watch out for Brownie this weekend, Glen Helen is one of his favorite tracks and he's ready to end the season on a high note. The etnies trailer will be somewhere in the camping area on the hill so stop by and say wazzzz uppp! I will be there to shoot photos and hang out on Sunday after the Primm race so look for some new photo galleries and tons of new desktop wallpapers sometime next week.
Also, the ASR trade show is in San Diego. Don’t worry, you’re not missing much (most of our rider will be at the event mentioned above anyway) but if you feel left out I’m sure there will be all kinds of after hype stuff next week with news posts and photo galleries of “cool” guys and hot chicks in skimpy clothes. Ooooh I can’t wait…
What the he!L are you blog nerds doing this weekend???
Tommy Hayden Wins AMA Supersport Championship
Posted by: Cropley | Wednesday, September 7, 2005Team Kawasaki’s Tommy Hayden rode to his second championship in a row this weekend in the Supersport class. Tommy’s fifth-place result on Sunday was more than strong enough to secure his second consecutive Supersport crown thanks to the 30-point lead he brought into the race.
Roger Hayden won the Supersport race for the second weekend in a row and also won his his first ever Superstock race at Road Atlanta. When commenting on the weekend Roger said, “I got my first pole, my first Superstock win, and won the Supersport race.” “It was definitely the best weekend of my career. It’s nothing to jump up and down about but I’m happy. I won’t kick the dog when I get home tonight, that’s for sure.” Roger finished second overall in Supersport points behind his brother Tommy and fourth overall in Superstock.

- Zemke leads DuHamel into the last lap until he crashes.
Jake Zemke came in to the Formula Xtreme finale with a five point lead over his nearest competitor Miguel DuHamel, so he needed a win in the final race to secure the championship. The two were going back and forth for the lead for all 15 laps. Zemke lead into the final lap of the race, but while holding off the charging DuHamel, Zemke crashed and ended his hopes of the championship. Zemke finished second overall in the Formula Xtreme points race.
Congrats to the Hayden brothers and Jake Zemke for killing it this year!

Reed Is Just Fine...We Lied
Posted by: Cropley | Thursday, September 1, 2005From Racer X (again) - Fortunately, like we said, it was just a rumor - Bob Moore of The Familie checked in to let us know that the reports of Team Yamaha's Chad Reed being injured in a cycling accident back home in Australia are not true, and that Reed plans to be back in the U.S. next week to begin training and testing for the U.S. Open of Supercross at the MGM Grand on October 7-8.
To make up for jumping to conclusions we offer you desktop wallpapers. The price? $Free.NinetyFree
Chad Reed Injured?
Posted by: Cropley | Thursday, September 1, 2005From Racer X - Racer X is checking out a report from Down Under that Chad Reed, the 2004 THQ AMA Supercross Champion, suffered a broken foot when he was hit by a car while cycling in Australia. Reed had dropped out of the 2005 AMA Motocross Nationals in order to get pins removed from his hand and was hoping to return in time to race the U.S. Open of Supercross in Las Vegas on October 7-8. We are trying to confirm the report and will keep you updated on the Team Yamaha rider's status.
