Mike Brown Out For The MXdN

Posted by: Cropley | Thursday, August 25, 2005 13 comments
Big Brownie and little Brownie were up on the podium quite a bit in the first part of the season.

Mike Brown was invited to ride for Team USA at the Motocross des Nations this year, which was a huge honor and a dream come true for Mike. Until yesterday when it was announced that Brownie would not be riding for his country at the MXdN and have to sit out the legendary race. His results lately have not been quite as good as the first part of the season so the tough decision was made to change riders. The whole deal sucks for Brownie.

Check out the press release for the details and check out the open letter from Ricky Carmichael about the whole situation.

In support of Mike Brown

and his team and his fans, etnies and Thor are giving away an autographed Mike Brown Thor jersey and a pair of etnies to the author of the Best Comment In The etnies Moto Blog through next week. So blog your hearts out and win an autographed piece of history and some etnies.

In fact, I don't know who is Mike Brown or his successes... but never is late to start in this. (moreover the jersey is very nice, I like it very much...)

I'm 23 and since I bought my first Etnies last month I have been feeling an attraction to this kind of sports. I've changed my clothes...and my way of life too. I´d never thought Etnies could change anyone but they've made me better. Thanks Etnies :-)

caca, what I said it´s real...but I consider too that the words I used are not the most appropiate...when I read again I saw they are a bit brown noser. Engish is not my language.

But I like your words, they are ironic... I like to know people with different points of view, and irony is my favourite way of humour.

P.D. Now I know who is Mike Brown.

Brown got screwed. So he hasn't done well in a couple races. Big deal. He has 12 years worth of racing results. They had plenty to go on to make a decision. Tedesco didn't do shit last year at the outdoors and doesn't have any experience overseas. To say he didn't perform well the last 2 races just makes them sleep better at night about screwing him. They fucked him-plain and simple.

Is Brown injured? NO. Does he have factory equipment? NO. Was he the best rider through 5 rounds of the Nationals? Yes. They made their decision at that time, they should stick to it! That's bullshit.
I think brownie would have done great, hes got alot of heart and was really looking forward to going, he has been stabbed in the back. He has been one of the best 125 rider over the last 10 years and deserved the opportunity to represent his country. Hope he smokes everyone this week. That's not because I dislike any of the other riders, only because I think he got screwed. Politics as usual.

This is what happens when millions of dollars are at stake. Brownie got burned for political and financial reasons. Our sport has hit the big time and with it comes this kind of bullshit. Also considering that RC and Mike were friends it just seems that Mike got his legs cut from under him...I cant wait to see brown go 1-1-1-1 in the last 4 motos of the season.

I think Brown got royaly screwed. I was excited when I found out he was on the team and hearing this is just a dissapointment. I think it was a poor decision to remove him and was politically motivated. Look at it this way, if stewart had accepted the chance to ride at the MXDN and was having these results would they have removed him from the team? No. Mike was good enough to go a month ago and now he isn't, he's the same person and is riding the same as he did a month ago he just isn't getting the same results. Make a decision and stick to it AMA. I sent this message to the people at AMA pro racing on their web site and I suggest that if you agree you should do the same.

I don't understand why they would kick Brown off the team. It has to be a major blow to Mike. I'd be pissed. Like he said in the press release - most of his trip and everything else needed to be taken care of to go there was out of his own pocket. That's just not right. It would be awesome if he win the last two rounds! Go mike!!!

Mike Brown out of Moto Des Nations??...
Once again the AMA has it head up it's butt. What other organization makes a public announcement only to retract it? Well..I mean besides...the U.S. Government, The President, Congress, California Governors...ok nevermind!

...I wonder how Steve Whitelock would like it if we offered a twinkie to him, only to chuck it on top of the THQ finish line sign?

    "AMA - Rights, Riding, Retracting"

I for one am glad you're back in the U.S racing again Brownie!! Chin up Bro.
