Moto-X Team Report 12-08-04

Posted by: Mike Matz | Wednesday, December 8, 2004

This past weekend was the first round of the World Supercross Series in Toronto. Tim Ferry, Mike LaRocco and Josh Hansen were on hand representing etnies. Mike finished 2nd with Tim finishing 3rd.

2002 AMA Superbike champ and 2003 Moto GP Rookie of the Year Nicky Hayden will be a guest on the popular motorcycle enthusiasts TV show, Two Wheel Tuesday, on Tuesday, December 7. Airing on the Speed Channel, and hosted by Greg White, show times are 8:00 p.m. EST and 9:00 p.m. PST. Hayden will be an in-studio guest broadcasting from the showҒs Charlotte studios. White will be speaking to Hayden regarding the recent season end of Haydens second year racing the Moto GP series, whereby 5.2 billion fans in 208 countries watched one or more races, marking the highest television viewership in the 55-year history of the series.

The word out in California is that Team Honda's Travis Preston crashed late last week at the Honda test track and may have broken his collarbone. Apparently, Travis was riding around the track, warming up after just getting there, when the bike popped into neutral and he was thrown off. Average time out for a collarbone is four to six weeks, leaving the factory Honda rider questionable for the season opener in Anaheim.

Twitch Dominates Triple Crown!

Posted by: Mike Matz | Monday, December 6, 2004

Jeremy "Twitch"Stenberg wins four of the six Triple Crown of FMX events and takes the title!

The final stop of the Triple Crown of Freestyle Moto-X landed at the 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore, Maryland, where Jeremy TwitchӔ Stenberg came in alone in 1st place. Stenberg, winning two of the first four stops of the Triple Crown Series, looked to win his first Triple Crown of Freestyle Moto-X title.

Twitch was Saturday nights number one qualifier, followed by Kenny Bartram in 2nd and Beau Bamburg in 3rd. Jim McNeil needed the second round in order to qualify for the main event, but wasted little time taking over the hot seat from 2004 IFMA champ, Jake Windham. McNeilҒs score of 94.0 was enough to last through Dustin Miller, Drake McElroy and Bamburg until Bartram took the course.

Bartram put together a flawless run, with numerous back flip variations and the energy that only Bartram can deliver. His score of 94.4 was enough to take the Hot Seat. The last rider of the night took the course needing a near perfect run to over take the cowboy. Twitch nailed that run, scoring a 94.6 to earn the win and his first Championship of Freestyle Motocross.

Fridays Results
1. Jeremy Stenberg (etnies) 94.2
2. Kenny Bartram 94.0
3. Jim McNeil 93.8
4. Jake Windham 93.4
5. Drake McElroy 93.0

SaturdayҒs Results
1. Jeremy Stenberg (etnies) 94.6
2. Kenny Bartram 94.0
3. Jim McNeil 94.0
4. Beau Bamburg 93.8
5. Drake McElroy 93.7
