The race guys had the weekend off and will get back to it next Sunday. Timmy Ferry and Grant Langston are not sure if they will ride due to nagging injuries that they are recovering from.
The first Crusty shows went down this weekend in Australia. The shows were sold out and out of control, but everyone was safe and had a good time. The crew will be leaving tomorrow for the next stop, which is also sold out.
Chris Ackerman had surgery over the weekend in China and has shown some great signs of recovery. He was said to have been sweating, which he has not done in fourteen months, and he's also breathing easier than before. Brian Deegan sent Chris to China with his gold medal from the X Games. As seen in the picture, Chris hung it above his bed. The only picture Chris took with him was of his dog, Thunder.

Posted by: Mike Matz | Thursday, May 20, 2004Round one of the 2004 Outdoor National series went down on Sunday in Hangtown, Sacramento. Chad Reed finished the race with a 3-3 for 3rd overall. Grant Langston and Tim Ferry both struggled with their injuries and pulled off the track in the second moto. The track was super rough, and with Tim and Grant having hand injuries, it was too much too soon after surgery. Grant finished 24th and Timmy finished 25th.
The 125cc race was a good one, as Roncada was dicing it up with Stewart. Mike Brown finished 4-4 for a 3rd overall. Ryan Morais finished 9th overall with a 18-7.
All the boys have left for the Crusty tour and will be in Australia for three to four weeks. etnies riders that are on the tour are Brian Deegan, Twitch, Mike Jones, Seth Enslow, Dayne Kinnaird and Dan Pastor.

Chad Reed, Timmy Ferry and Grant Langston are getting ready for the first Outdoor National this weekend at Hangtown in Sacramento.

The Racer X crew invited about one hundred people to ride with them at the Castillo Ranch just North of Santa Barbara last week. The track was one of the best I have ever ridden, and it was worth the three-hour drive.
Brian Deegan, Twitch, Dayne Kinnaird, Seth Enslow, Mike Jones and now Dan Pastor have gone to Australia for the Crusty tour.

is the 2004 AMA 250cc Supercross Champion! He had to finish 8th or better in Las Vegas Saturday night to clinch the title. Chad got a bad start and settled in behind Windham
for twenty laps. This is his first full year on a 250 in the States and he is also the first foreign rider to win the title in thirteen years. Chad will be riding a 450 four stroke this summer in the Outdoor series.
Etnies Moto-X Team Manager Matt Chapman
played in the 5th annual Road to Recovery golf tournament at Badlands Golf Club in Las Vegas. This is a charity event to support AMA riders and their families in the event of an accident or other unforeseen event. Four players get
matched-up with a Supercross rider, and the group played best ball. Matt teamed-up with Kurt Hollar from Moto XXX, Kenny Watson from Utopia Eyewear, a friend of his, and Grant Langston as the Supercross rider. "I have never had so much fun golfing in my life...and all for a very good cause!" commented Chapman. Some of the other riders that played were Chad Reed, Jeremy McGrath, Jeff Emmig, Michael Byrne, Nate Ramsey, Ivan Tedesco and Ernesto Fonseca, to name just a few.
Etnies riders Brian Deegan, Twitch, Dayne Kinnaird, Seth Enslow and Mike Jones are heading to Australia next week for the Crusty tour.
Chad Reed Wins 250cc Supercross Championship!
Posted by: Mike Matz | Tuesday, May 4, 2004Over the weekend, etnies' Chad Reed nabbed 2nd place in the 16th and final THQ AMA Supercross event in Las Vegas, securing enough points to be named this year's 250cc THQ AMA Supercross Champion!
The first Australian to ever win the THQ AMA Supercross Championship, Reed claimed ten victories in this year's five-month, sixteen-race series. Chad is the third person in AMA Supercross history to accomplish this incredible feat, and now resides in the distinguished company of former winners Jeremy McGrath and Ricky Carmichael.
Throughout the entire season, Chad never relinquished his hold of the 2004 THQ AMA Supercross rankings, finishing in the top two of every single race, except one where he placed third. A lifelong dream accomplished, Chad's already looking forward to racing next year.
etnies would like to congratulate Chad Reed for an incredible season, and for winning the 2004 THQ AMA Supercross Champion crown!
